What makes therapy with you different?
Therapy with me is warm and casual, while providing a safe space for deep exploration of the young and vulnerable parts of ourselves. I often laugh a lot with my clients and also have times of deep introspection, mindfulness, and directed coaching. I always follow my client's lead, as I trust you as an intelligent being who simply needs someone to walk the path with them or point out things along the way. I am someone who continually engages in rigorous self-exploration and training so I can meet my clients in real-life relationships and the real-world day-to-day challenges while holding a broad spiritual perspective of life and the challenges we all face. I am deeply humanistic at my core, trusting that if I simply provide a healing environment with clear attention and the right curious questions, your psyche will unfold in the way that is most healing for you.

What do people usually get out of sessions with you?
In general individuals and couples report the following:
What does a typical session look like?
Typically we will sit for 60 minutes and talk and feel through what you bring to the session that day and the best ways to address it. I may invite an embodiment practice whether it's meditation, movement, breath work, or a communication exercises if the moment calls for it. If you would like something specific in our session, just ask! I love to support my clients in creating their therapy just how they want it.
Some clearing steps we might do in session could include meditations to access blocks from earlier in life or to connect with your higher Self, Sand tray and Jungian active imagination, Gestalt dialogue work to experientially work out the conflicting feelings and thoughts that hold you back, and emotional release exercises drawn from co-counseling and Peter Levine's work. We may write out contracts between you and your partner, actionable steps to take, or guide you through exercises to communicate with more authenticity and appreciation with one another. I may teach specific practices like breath work, communication practices, or pleasure practices and ask you to do them for homework, checking in by email in between sessions. You are the creator of your reality and I am your midwife and Douala, here to help you along the path!
What are your fees?
Our fees are commensurate with average therapy costs in the area. Please inquire directly about fees and sliding scale if needed.
Will insurance cover the cost of sessions?
I do not take insurance directly but many PPO's will reimburse at least partially for the cost of our sessions. Please contact me directly for the information you will need to call your insurance and ask what they will reimburse.
